Aqualand Maspalomas: minimum heights, prices, and where the 4.1 rating comes from
Updated October 1, 2026 · 8 min read
The short answer: the Aqualand Maspalomas entry ticket costs €41 per person with us, rated 4.1 stars from 1,630 reviews on GetYourGuide. That’s exactly the park’s gate price — online, on the operator’s own site, the same ticket starts at €32, and for two adults with two children, its Family Pack from €106 is the cheapest option of all. What decides whether the park is worth it isn’t the price but height: between 1.20 m and 1.40 m, a child can ride almost everything and still pays the child price. Below that, the whole adrenaline section stays off-limits — then Palmitos Park at €39 or Poema del Mar at €29 make for a better day.

Aqualand Maspalomas is the water park on the GC-1 between Playa del Inglés and San Agustín, and €41 at 4.1 stars from 1,630 reviews sits noticeably lower than the island’s other big family days out: Palmitos Park holds 4.8 stars from 1,798 reviews, and the aquarium Poema del Mar 4.8 from 4,480. Across all 247 tours and tickets on the island, the median price is €69, so €41 sits well below that line — and a rating below both comparisons is worth explaining before you book: which slides a child’s height unlocks, what the ticket costs once you look past the price with us, and where that middling rating comes from.

What the ticket actually costs
The €41 with us is exactly the adult gate price. On the operator’s own site, aqualand.es/maspalomas, the same ticket starts at €32 online. A child ticket is €31 at the gate or from €22 online, Mini (ages 3–4) is €17 either way, and seniors from 65 pay the same as a child.
A two-day ticket costs €56 (adult) or €46 (child) at the gate, from €53 or €43 online, and €17 for Mini either way; seniors match the child price. A Family Pack for two adults and two children starts at €106, a Friends Pack for four adults from €126, and a 2026 annual pass is €120. There’s also a combined ticket with Palmitos Park: €62 for an adult, €45 for a child, €23 for Mini.
For two adults and two children, that gap is real: €144 at the gate against €106 through the Family Pack. We earn a commission on bookings through the link above, and we’re telling you anyway that the operator’s own site is cheaper.
Canary Islands residents have their own, considerably lower rates from €10, with ID required; resident tickets bought online aren’t valid the same day.
Adult, child or Mini: height decides, not just age
Each of the four ticket categories carries two definitions, and either one applies. Adult means age 11 and up, or 1.40 m and up. Child means ages 5 to 10, or 1.10 to 1.40 m. Mini means ages 3 to 4, or 0.90 to 1.10 m. Under 3 or under 0.90 m gets in free. The operator can ask for ID; where none is shown, staff measure instead — so a tall eight-year-old can be classified as an adult and charged accordingly, and a small ten-year-old might pay the child rate.
Which slides need which height
Height, not the ticket category, decides which rides a child can go on, published slide by slide.
At 1.20 m and up: Banzai (ring, 1.00–1.20 m only with an adult), The Spiral (no ring), Speed Boats (ring required), Snake Falls (no ring), Racer Twin Turbolance (ring), the water maze, Kamikaze (no ring), and Tsunami (ring). Anaconda, Misol-ha and Hurakan allow 1.00–1.20 m with an adult. Tukakame needs only 1.00 m. The Pirate River also needs 1.20 m, but a shorter child can ride it with an adult, no minimum height at all.
Some children’s areas run the opposite way, with an upper limit rather than a lower one: Skull Bay in Kidzworld and Polynesia, a tipping-bucket area with no rings, are both for under 1.40 m, and Adventure Land, eight slides in all, runs from 0.90 to 1.50 m.
Do the maths and a window appears. Under 1.20 m, almost the entire adrenaline section of the park is off-limits. From 1.40 m up, Skull Bay and Polynesia close in the other direction. Between 1.20 m and 1.40 m, a child can ride nearly everything in the park and still pays the child price, not the adult one.
The operator publishes no height requirement for the wave pool Discovery Beach or for the Hidromasaje, and no maximum weight for any attraction.
Opening hours and getting there
The park opens daily 10 am to 5 pm, extending to 10 am to 6 pm in July and August. Water attractions close 30 minutes before the park itself, and it runs year-round with no closing days listed.
Global’s bus line 45 runs from Playa del Inglés, Bahía Feliz and San Agustín; line 70 from Puerto de Mogán, Puerto Rico and Faro de Maspalomas. The operator mentions private car parks on site, but no shuttle bus of its own.
Food, swimwear and what’s checked at the gate
Bringing your own food and drink is allowed, glass containers aren’t, and the house rules say food may only be eaten in the picnic areas set aside for it. Swimwear needs to be free of hard or metal parts, and denim isn’t allowed in the water. Waterproof cameras are fine, selfie sticks aren’t. Water shoes are recommended on nearly every attraction page, and whether a ring is compulsory or banned is stated ride by ride.
Where the 4.1 rating actually comes from
On GetYourGuide itself, the value-for-money subcategory sits at 3.5 out of 5, against 4.1 overall. HolidayCheck scores it 3.1 out of 6 from 83 reviews, only 45% saying they’d recommend it, citing waits of up to 45 minutes and the prices. parkscout has it at 3 out of 5 from 8 reviews, with cleanliness and “hardly any shady spots” coming up repeatedly.
A pattern runs through all three: not the rides, but the wait for them, a two-tier system created by the Fast Pass, and extra costs stacked on the ticket — lockers, sunbeds, food, photos. Reviewers also mention slides switched off around 4.30 pm, the queue closing as early as 4.15 pm, well before the stated closing time.
What the operator doesn’t say
No maximum weight is published for any ride, and no height requirement is given for Discovery Beach or the Hidromasaje. Nothing is stated about rules for unaccompanied children or non-swimmers, whether life jackets are provided or cost extra, or a half-day ticket. Prices for lockers, sunbeds, parasols, ring hire, the Fast Pass, parking and food circulate online, but the figures contradict each other and none carry a date, so none are repeated here. The operator gives no realistic visit duration and no statement on wind, shade or heated pools. Where the site stays silent, check on the day rather than trust a number that might be wrong by then.
Who this isn’t the right choice for
Anyone travelling with a child close to 1.20 m or 1.40 m should expect the border to matter on the day — how the ticketing works, not a flaw, but it catches people off guard. Families wanting cost certainty are better off elsewhere: between lockers, sunbeds and the Fast Pass, the final bill is harder to predict than the headline ticket suggests. Anyone visiting in July or August, when reviews most often mention long waits and slides shutting early, should weigh that against Palmitos Park or Poema del Mar, both at 4.8 stars.

For families still weighing where a water park fits into the week, Gran Canaria with kids and Gran Canaria with a toddler cover the age brackets, and Gran Canaria family holiday: the cost sets a day like this against a week’s budget.
Our recommendation
For most people: If your child is between 1.20 m and 1.40 m tall, the Aqualand ticket at €41 is the best day the park has to offer: almost every slide open, still at the child price. Go early — the slides get switched off before the stated closing time.
On a tight budget: Buy from the operator. Two adults and two children pay from €106 through its Family Pack instead of €144 at the gate. We’re saying that even though we earn on the link above.
For families with young children: Below 1.20 m, the whole adrenaline section stays off-limits, and €41 for Kidzworld and Adventure Land is a lot of money. Palmitos Park at €39 has 4.8 stars from 1,798 reviews and works at any age.
If this park isn’t for you: Anyone who needs cost certainty, who’s coming in July or August and can’t stand long waits, or who has a child under 1.20 m, is better off booking something else. On a calima or rainy day, Poema del Mar at €29 is the right choice — fully indoors, 4.8 stars from 4,480 reviews.
